My 9 Favourite Singapore Hotels For A Staycation

oasia hotel downtown oasia-hotel-downtown-club-lounge-infinity-pool

On one hand, Singapore has a small land size so there’s a limited number of things we can do, but on the other, we Singaporeans have plenty to do in this tiny island. How lucky are we?

It may be difficult to vacation out of Singapore with our extremely tight study/ work schedules, but it’s nice to get a “holiday” feel while staying in Singapore. Having a staycation is the way!

We have a great number of hotels to choose from to spend our weekend staycation. Some even have staycation packages – I know! Staycation is really becoming a thing in Singapore, and more and more hotels are embracing it.

Many of us like to use staycation as a way to treat ourselves, our partners or friends, to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or simply to be pampered.

I’ve been to a few staycations in Singapore myself in 2017 (find the whole list here), so I sometimes get asked,

“What’s the best hotel for a staycation with friends?” or “Where should I stay to celebrate my anniversary?”

As you scroll down the list below, you’ll realise that while some are extravagant, others are quirky and unique.

Whether it’s for a short weekend rest with your family or a nice weekend in town with your partner, I’ve compiled a list of some of my recommended staycation spots in Singapore based on the hotels I’ve stayed in.

Travel tip: Book your hotel staycation well in advance on peak periods as some boutique hotels fill up really fast.

Disclaimer: The prices of rooms per night for two that I’ve listed below act as a reference point and are calculated based on off peak periods. You can change the dates manually by clicking on the links to get the exact amount for your travel period. 🙂

7. PARKROYAL on Pickering, Singapore

The exterior design is profound. There is nowhere within this area that can compare to the size, shape and design of this building. If you’re around the Chinatown/ Outram vicinity, you won’t miss this hotel for sure.

Built upon nature elements, you’ll find plants that decorate the interior of the hotel, and even in your room. Wood elements are also used to create the effect that you’re completely surrounded by nature.

The only drawback I felt was how commercialized this hotel is, to the point where I had to wait hours to check in. The aesthetics is otherwise mesmerizing.

Catch their movie nights by the pool, and have fun in the glass-panelled infinity pool. Their dining section is combined with the reception and limited in food choices, but don’t miss out on their complimentary evening drinks and snacks.

Oh, I particularly liked their refreshing, fizzy welcome drink too!
