58 Cool jobs that allow you to travel the world!
1. Accountant
This is one of the “old school” jobs that has been digitized so much, It can be done remotely now as well. Software like Quickbooks and apps that can scan receipts have made the work for accountants so much easier. Just login, use a digital calculator and start doing the finances…from the beach. Everything you need is in the cloud.
2. Airforce/ Helicopter Mechanic
This job is in charge of inspections, making repairs and perform maintenance of the aircraft. The aircraft mechanic must have to abilities to diagnose both electrical and mechanical problems and identify repair procedures. They can examine faulty parts and replace them with new ones.
The job itself is relocated quite often so someone in this role will definitely travel. Aircraft mechanics have “PTO” (paid time off) which is up to 30 days. They can use this time to travel back to the United States or Central America or Europe if they are based in the area.
3. Massage Therapist
Being self-employed, a massage therapist can take time off whenever he or she needs so there’s a lot of flexibility there. However, you only get paid for the hours your work. So, you’d probably want to do extra hours to compensate the days you will be off because that will be idle time.
4. High School Teacher
Who said only kids can have long summer breaks? Apart from that, you also have Christmas, March break and other mid-term breaks
The typical teacher in the US works about 180 days a year with a starting average salary of $36,000. It is not much at all, but teachers save up every penny during the school year to have at least a month off to go on trips and adventures.
Another option would be to get a second job for some extra money during school term breaks. However you put it, this job allows you a lot of flexibility.
5. Language school teacher
These private schools usually have facilities all over the world. One can work in the school (abroad) for a few months and change to another. You literally can get paid while travelling and also work half days most of the time.
6. ESL teacher
The requirements to become an ESL (English as a second language) teacher in China are more accessible compared to other Asian countries.
Sometimes, a university degree and teaching experience is not always needed to become a teacher. You will also be able to enjoy the Chinese culture, language, food and explore all of China. Not to mention, whilst there, you will be able to visit the surrounding Asian countries.
7. Travel radiographer
As a travel radiologic technologist, you can choose to spend the winter months in sunny places like Miami or Arizona, and during the summer you can reside in New York or Washington.
Moreover, with each visit, you will enhance your experience and build relationships with fellow doctors.
For example, you can travel between 13-week contracts and you could shoot for jobs where your friends and family are based so you can visit them while working.
8. Mass Communication
Do radio, video production, photography, or journalism as these are the best freelance jobs that will allow you the flexibility to travel the world.
9. Boat Captain
Another one that sounds more complicated than it is. A sail boat skipper permit can cost somewhere around $2000.Once you have it, you can sail the boat by yourself. So, you can either live on the boat or use it to do paid tours.
Another income stream would be to sail charted boats for people who want to rent but don’t have a skipper license.
10. Business Analytics Manager
A job that became pretty popular in the last few years with the explosion of IT. This role is usually a mix of technical and business skills where the technical requirements must be translated into business requirements or vice versa for different projects.
It can definitely be done remote and if you work for a European company, you will most certainly have at least 25 days of holidays. Some companies offer up to 35, so look out for these special perks.
11. Professor
If you are on top of your game, you will be doing a lot of publishing and conference presentations. This presents plenty of travel opportunities. Taking opportunities when they present themselves is the key. Depending on your field, you can see what conferences are out there and go wherever you have the chance to go.
12. Cruise staff
This is a rotational/ seasonal job where every 6 weeks or so you can get a few vacations. In between seasons, one can get about 4 months. You will be free to plan your extended number of holidays as you wish.
13. Cybersecurity
Another cool job that can be done whilst on the go. You will have to talk to your client or employer to see if there are any security restrictions to work remotely. You can also take speaking engagements to allow you to travel for work.
14. Film Production Crew
Being part of a film production can be really cool and exciting. You can either be a crew in Sports, News, Documentaries and even Entertainment. Depending on the project or job scope, it may necessitate travel.
15. Make-up artist in a film industry
You will be part of a film crew and you’ll be travelling alongside them. Just make sure you check the history of the company and their travelling schedule. Expect some odd working hours.
16. Nanny
A job in great demand these days due to people having busier and busier lives. You can work part time or full time and plan your jobs around your lifestyle. You can use websites like Urbansitter or Sittercity to find a nanny job wherever you wish to travel to.
Alternatively, you can work full time for longer periods of time so you can save money and travel the rest of the time.
17. Pet/ House sitter
Similar to a nanny job, there are home owners constantly travelling and hence require a sitter to care for their pets or plants at home. This presents an excellent opportunity for you, the traveller, to find a home to stay.

This job is more of a barter job, but with proper money management, you will be able to save on accommodation and stretch your travel dollar more.
Sometimes you might be able to stay for free in really nice accommodation or even exotic places if you get lucky.
18. Acupuncturist in a cruise ship
If you are into healthcare services and want to become an acupuncturist, there are definitely ways to travel. A very interesting role is the one where you can get medium term contracts like 6 to 8 weeks on a cruise ship and then stick around the continent to travel.
19. Public Relations Adviser
If you are a PR adviser, a good strategy is to focus on international companies entering your home country. This would be a good reason to travel and familiarise yourself in those countries. Also, this kind of role can be done from your cellphone or iPad, which makes travel and work from anywhere easier and possible.
20. Childcare Centre Director
In this role you’ll have to mentor and lead a dedicated team. It is a hands-on role usually where you divide your time evenly between being on the floor with the Educators, while running the day-to-day operation and success of the centre.
The work-life balance is great, and this role exposes you to plenty of trainings. The work environment is equally as pleasant. You can transfer very easily from one state to another and even abroad.
21. Internal Auditor
As an internal auditor, you’ll have to navigate through ambiguity and manage multiple project assignments at the same time. That also means you have a flexible schedule. You will advise the business and teams to identify areas of risk and make valuable recommendations on controls.
22. Philanthropic sector work
The pay is decent and the work is very rewarding. You should get about 4 weeks’ vacation a year and the same for sick leave.
23. An office job with “unlimited leave”
There are some cutting-edge, modern companies who literally offer “unlimited leave” where you can get as much vacation as you’d like as long as your work is done.
24. Travel agent
You can use websites like Jooble to find a travel agent job regardless of your experience in this area. You’ll be selling transportation, accommodation, and tickets to entertainment events around the world. A travel agent offers advice on destinations, makes travel arrangements for customers and plans trip itineraries.
This more than often necessitates travel to these destinations to familiarise and equip yourself with the knowledge to promote. How else will you be able to promote destinations if you haven’t been there?
Also, being a travel agent, you can consult over the phone or online with the help of tools, so you don’t have to be stuck in an office full-time.
25. Wedding photographer
People can go out of their way for the perfect wedding pictures. Some couples prefer to bring a photographer they know along with them at their wedding which can be in a different state or country. Yes, they can go as far as being willing to pay for the photographer’s transport, accommodation and the job itself.
So, if you want to do this, make sure you have a great portfolio and position yourself as a (Travel) Wedding Photographer. That way, your job can allow you to see the world.
26. Freelance ghostwriter/ book coach
This is by default a remote job. You can be anywhere in the world and help writers and bloggers write drafts. All you need is a decent laptop and a freelancer account on platforms such as Fiverr or Upwork.
27. Children’s book writer
Children’s book writers create picture books and novels with language and themes aimed at a specific age group, such as preschoolers or elementary school children.
The more experience you have, the more you’ll get paid. For example, an author with experience between 0-5 years will pocket $42,000 whilst someone with 10 years of experience can get around $54,000/year. All you need for this job is a laptop and a mobile phone with international call time.
28. Oil and gas writer
If you can believe it, this is a full-time job in a niche industry with a lot financing in it. You will need detailed industry knowledge to be able to write like an expert.
This is a job that offers a degree of flexibility to combine travel and work.
29. Stripper/ aesthetician/ bartender
It goes without saying that these jobs offer great flexibility. You can change countries or states very easily because they are short-term, contract-based jobs.
30. Cabin crew
Depending on which airline you’re working for; flight routes can connect Asia with Europa and Africa or North America. Besides, working as an airline crew comes with great benefits.
Layovers will allow you to visit exotic destinations based on your flight routes. Also, you will be able to travel anywhere whenever you have days off from your base.
31. Freelance court stenographer
A stenographer transcribes speeches in shorthand. These jobs are usually independent contractors so the amount of work is flexible depending on the contract length and hours agreed. The pay is good and the job offers plenty of space so you can have plenty of holidays.
32. Veterinary telemedicine
In this role, you will monitor animal health remotely via pictures, videos or live conferences with the owner and the pet. Usually, the “parents” (your clients) will look for solutions online and in case they can’t find anything, they will use telehealth as a cheaper alternative.
This kind of job will allow you to work remotely even as a doctor, but you will need to take the tech with you, wherever you are, and sync with your peers.
33. Marketing Enablement Analyst
You can easily do this role remotely. It usually involves connecting to online systems and tools to create reports and KPIs. Either work from home or from different locations. You can also enjoy plenty of holiday leave from the company.
34. Duty hotel manager
Your job is to oversee the front operations of the hotel accommodation and sometimes the restaurant too. Great customer service skills are a must and you’ll have to work on improving the customer experience all the time.
The cool part about this role is that you will get a lot of time off – about 48 days of paid vacation. Also, another nice perk is that if the hotel is part of a global chain, you can move to another hotel in a different country that’s within the same network.
35. Musician
Are you a talented musician? Do you have a band? If not, join one and you might be on the road faster than you think. This is probably one of the most rewarding jobs out there and if you play it right (anybody notice the pun?), you’ll get your fair share of travelling.

A type of role that allows up to 7 weeks of paid vacation.

Beyond treating pets in a clinic, you can travel to conferences and work with different vet schools all around the US and Caribbean.
38. Recipe blogger/ YouTuber
So you think you are a talented cook or have really good communications skills on camera? Youtube is a great way to monetise video content. Competition is fierce though so bring you’re A-game to the table (another pun!).
You can even film recipes while on the road, with different cuisines! Just make sure you bring your professional shooting equipment with you because you want to keep it consistent all the way.

Not a job per se, but still a role that allows you to travel. Universities are free in Sweden and Denmark. So as a student, you just have to cover your living costs. That is all.
Moreover, you get about $700 fees in scholarships just for being enrolled in Uni (you have to be an EU citizen or have residence permit). Basically, if you save up enough, you can get paid to study and also travel abroad.
40. Sales support service representative
All you need is a phone signal and/or internet connection. These jobs are easy to find. Just go to any remote job Facebook groups or forums and you’ll see plenty of available roles.
41. Artist
If you work hard enough, you will be on a lot of road shows, exhibitions. Who knows, you might even have a chance to give public speeches.
42. Product manager
You will be managing teams of software developers and analysts. Since most of the Product Manager jobs are now for digital products, you can perform your role even when on the go without any issues.
In fact, a lot of Product Managers are already working remotely, and so this is a perfect job for travelling. Make sure you have a good internet connection, webcam and microphone. You will use video conferencing a lot.
43. Forex trader
The job itself is harder than you think, and you need to be in complete control of your emotions. The great part about this vocation is that if you are good at it, it’s very rewarding financially and you can travel all the time.
44. Nutrition coach
Another very rewarding job. You can have video sessions with your clients over webcam and communicate their progress in a platform or an app. It is also possible to travel to deliver health seminars and motivate people all around the world.
45. Dentist
Very easy to take time off or long breaks if you have your own practice. Put your business on pause and start travelling.
46. Chef
Have you ever thought about becoming a chef…on a boat? Well, this is one great way to see the world whilst doing what you love. You can either work on a cruise ship or a private yacht; the choice is yours. Just remember, there is a lot of demand for this kind of jobs.
47. Attorney
Having your own law firm offers a lot of flexibility. You can schedule your appearances around travel and work remotely.
48. Apprentice technician
This role is pretty flexible because it’s a junior role. The downside is that it is not so well paid. However, you will get to travel quite often.
49. Software engineer
Maybe the hottest remote job you can get. There are more and more opportunities right now for remote software developers as companies are opening up more to this idea. A good website to find remote jobs for engineers is Remote.co.
You can get paid in US Dollars and live in cheaper countries with weaker currencies, thus increasing your buying power as a digital nomad.
50. Housewife
Well yes, this can be a job too! It’s not easy to take care of the house and keeping everyone happy. If your partner makes good money, then you can travel together and often.
51. Fashion model
Probably one of the most glamorous jobs out there. Having a modelling career can be very rewarding, but also tiring. You will get to try the latest fashionable clothes and maybe even travel often if you are successful.
Therefore, if you are confident in your looks and style, you can hop on the modelling caravan and see the world whilst working. If you get the role, make sure to ask your agency how much travelling is involved when discussing all the details.
52. Designer/ Art Director
A very hot and in demand job, especially if you like UX/UI design for digital products. This is one job that not only can you do it remotely, it is also very well paid in spite of being out of the office. Pack your bags, this one will allow you to see the world!
53. County Deputy
A job that comes with a lot of responsibility, but also a lot of paid time off so you can enjoy life.
54. Business owner
Simple. Be your own boss, try to make as much money as possible and take vacations whenever you want. You are the owner; you decide when it’s time to hit the brakes. Make sure you have someone you trust to delegate the tasks whilst away.
55. Travel nurse
A specific nurse job that will allow you to change location about every three months.
As a nurse, you don’t get more than 2 weeks paid vacation. However, if you can take some extra shifts or swap shifts for shorter travel, you’ll probably be able to gain more days off. You can also save the PTO for to create longer breaks.
In between assignments, you can take a good 3-4 weeks off to travel.
Also, pay attention to your expenses and you might have plenty more money and time to spend on your next long holiday. Some nurses have side businesses so this could be a nice little source of income too.
56. Clinical Research Associate Manager
This role gives output and leadership for capacity planning, including reporting of manpower at moments in time and forecasting of capacities and needs. You will work to improve site performance where issues are identified and also escalate the site performance issues to the Clinical Research Director.
The job usually requires travelling so you won’t get bored or feel stuck in the same place.
A lot of companies now allow you to do this job from anywhere with a WiFi connection.
57. Casino massage therapist
Work with poker players in casinos massaging them on their gambling chairs. For one, Las Vegas is an amazing base. The airport is 10 minutes away and it offers a cheaper cost of living with various forms of entertainment.
58. Fintech company worker
Being in a financial technology job, some of these roles can be done remotely. Working remotely is very common because these businesses are very digital and cutting edge.
