Singapore’s Last Surviving Kampong (i.e. Village)

Exploring takes my mind off work and is a therapeutic way for me to forget my stresses. With the intense week of work that I was experiencing a few weeks back (i.e. bursting into tears when Microsoft Word crashed and I lost all my unsaved work), it called for an exploration. So on the day that I was on leave, I pulled WL along to explore Singapore’s last surviving kampong village with me to Kampong Buangkok!

We’ve only explored a section & somewhat more modernised version of the kampong, along the street Kampong Lorong Buangkok.

Saw old factories along the way.

I’ve learned to treasure my weekends much much more now that my weekdays are occupied with a full-time desk job.

If you’re keen to check out Singapore’s last surviving kampong, you can learn more about them herehere or here.

  1. This one looks worth exploring next time I’m in Singapore! It seems to be very contradictory to what I’ve seen already! And I’ve been to Singapore well over 20 times already!

    1. Hi Yannis! I’ll be happy to provide more info for you if you’re really keen to visit this area the next time you come to Singapore. Who knows, we could even organize a meet up. Let me know! 🙂
