Prague is basically divided into 10 distinctions and I’ve included a list of recommended hotels in every division. The hotels selected are based on their rankings and who they are best suited for.

In all honesty, you can almost never find any city as delightful as Prague. This city has the ability to, in its own ways, capture your attention and heart. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that you will fall in love at the very first sight with this beautiful city.

Although all the neighbourhoods come with something different to offer, there still are some factors that vary according to every individual.

That’s why I’ve listed down a wide range of places and hotels based on the neighbourhoods in Prague, so you can narrow down your best neighbourhood in Prague to stay that best suits your travel preference.

Neighbourhood #1 – Old Town

Thinking about your stay in Prague Old Town when you visit? If you’re someone visiting Prague for the first time, the Old Town is the best option for your stay. This is the oldest and most beautiful district in Prague.

You need to dedicate a good amount of time if you want to discover all the beauty and history this area has. This place features buildings that belong to different architectural styles and the famous Gothic church is one of them.

Since this place is located centrally, you can easily access the rest of the city centre from here.  New Town (Nové Město) is also convenient and an alternative to Old Town. You will find friendly locals and shops around to guide you with everything you ask.

Neighbourhood #2 – Vinohrady & Vyšehrad

This is undoubtedly the best neighbourhood to stay if you love green spaces and love trying tasty local restaurants. This is a leafy residential area of Vinohrady and probably the most famous community in Prague.

You will find tree-lined streets and beautiful parks here. Restaurants and beer gardens are spread throughout the place, which makes it a popular neighbourhood for foreigners to stay here.

Neighbourhood #3 – Žižkov

Žižkov, famous for its nightlife and edgy local vibes, has the most number of bars per capita in all of Europe. Historically this place was a working-class district, which you can still feel even today because of its constant revitalization.

This place has many modern residential areas as well as hidden gems. Be it old churches, music clubs, theatres, small hidden parks or specialised bars, Zizkov has a lot to offer.

In the traditional sense, there isn’t much to draw visitors to Zizkov. In simpler words, this place is gritty, and definitely an underrated part of the city which you shouldn’t be missing.

Located in the valley of the Botič stream, you can reach the western edges of Vinohrady and Vršovice easily from here. You can also get to the city’s centre on foot from the northern fringes if you like a little walk.

Historically, Nusle was a working-class district. It’s a famous place to stay while visiting Prague and for finding typical Czech pubs and restaurants.

I would highly recommend Nusle for authentic cultural experiences. When it comes to living in Prague, this place has highly improved housing stock and villa quarters.

You can find excellent public transport around and catchy green places to wander into.

Smích literally means laugh, and smíchat means to mix. Smíchov is thus a neighbourhood where you’ll find a mixture of people, architecture styles and landscapes here.

This place has evolved itself to a place with the best shopping and business centre, making it a trendy area to stay in.

The exact centre of Smíchov is at Anděl. Here, you can find shopping malls and many restaurants, bars and breathtaking cultural attractions to explore.

Neighbourhood #6 – Dejvice

Home to Dukla Prague which is one of the most successful football clubs of the Czechoslovak era, the Dejvice neighbourhood starts at the end of the famous green metro line.

Dejvice is Prague’s much-beloved green area with modern architecture that will make you forget everything. Its closeness to the airport, suburbs and transport lines makes it even more of a fine place to stay in Prague.

You will catch more Czech vibes as you walk down its streets. This is a place where you will be able to spot ordinary Czechs locals, eating and going out with their families.

Once known as an industrial part of the city, these two neighbourhoods are now going through a cultural rebirth. This district has the best art galleries and the best places to eat.

Neighbourhood #8 – Karlín

Karlín is the best area to stay for a more local experience. In 2002, it was hit by a flood and ever since then it has been going through reconstruction. Karlín is another neighbourhood that is close to the centre and up and coming.

There’s a notable structure in Karlín called Karlín Railway Bridge. This bridge connects Bubny station to the main railway station. Some other notable buildings include Theater Karlín, Hotel Olympik and House of the Invalid.

On its one side is Žizkov and on the other side is the area around Florenc bus station. You will find a handful of restaurants here to taste delicious food and cultures.

Part of Libeň lies on the banks of a river called Vltava River. This place was once the home of the famous Czech author named Bohumil Hrabal.

If we look through its history, the very first record of Libeň is said to be dated back to 1363. Some of you may find it rough but for others, its old-school charm is everything. It totally depends on every person’s taste and interest.

Vršovice is an ancient village and another district of Prague. It is said that the name of this village is derived from the hills – the hills in which the local villagers of this place used to fish.

This place is known to be the most happening one. Here, you’ll find all of the perks of Vinohrady like pubs, restaurants and cafes. It’s just at a little distance from the centre, but you’ll also notice that there’s always some festivities going on!

Vršovice might not be as green as you may find in Vinohrady, but it still has pretty parks like Grebovka Park and rents here are much lower as compared to other neighbourhoods here.
