Currency And Payment

While some places accept US dollars, I found it’s best to have Mexican pesos handy. ATMs can sometimes run out of cash, so stock up before arriving.

Slow Internet

Holbox is a haven for relaxation, and part of that is due to its slow internet and spotty cell reception. Instead of stressing about connectivity, I embraced the chance to disconnect from the digital world and fully immerse myself in the island’s tranquil vibe.

Eco-Friendly Practices

As a protected area, Holbox places a strong emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendly practices. I opted for reusable water bottles and shopping bags, and supported businesses that shared my commitment to sustainability.
